From 49 to 444 clicks per quarter: how a therapy practice started appearing when people look for help
A Gestalt therapy practice in a Zaragoza neighbourhood, run by a single therapist. When we started, the website barely appeared on Google and the Business Profile had not been worked on.
The goal was for people going through a difficult time (in their relationship, their family or grief) to find the therapist right when they are looking for answers.
A neighbourhood practice that Google barely showed
The therapist has a healthcare background and training in Gestalt therapy. She works with adults, couples, families and teenagers, as well as people going through grief.
For a service like this, most people do not search for “Gestalt therapy”. They search for what is happening to them: that they feel lonely, that their partner puts them down in front of others, that they do not know how to help their child.
The challenge was twofold: getting the practice to appear in local searches in Zaragoza and making the website answer those very personal questions.
When we reviewed the website and its Google presence in June 2025 we found:
- A homepage not built for Google: no H1, no title or description written for searches and no structured data.
- A generic Google Business Profile: it did not use the specific Gestalt therapy category or show the services.
- Unclear service pages: each type of therapy had neither its own focus nor its own heading.
- A form that did not work: we later discovered that messages from the form were not reaching her inbox.
- A blog with few posts and no consistent format.
For a local business, Google does not just look at the website. The Business Profile, directories and the trust the therapist conveys matter as much as the copy.
People do not search for a type of therapy. They search for someone who understands what they are going through.
Be visible in Zaragoza
We worked on the Google Business Profile (Gestalt therapy category, services, FAQs, photos and posts) and listed the practice on Bing Places, Apple Maps and local directories.
On the website we strengthened the homepage and each therapy page with local business details and questions about where the practice is in its neighbourhood.
Write about real problems
The first posts about Gestalt therapy ranked well, but mostly attracted curious readers.
In January 2026 we changed the approach and wrote about what really brings someone to therapy:
- Feeling sad in a relationship.
- Feeling lonely but not wanting to be with anyone.
- A partner who puts you down in front of others.
- How to support your partner through a hard time.
Each post links to the related service.
Build trust and make contact easy
We strengthened the “About me” page with her background and added her introduction video and a WhatsApp button.
We also fixed the form: messages were not reaching her. Without that change, every visitor who wanted to get in touch would have been lost.
Local foundations first, content second
The project moved forward in phases. First, what could bring calls fastest: the Business Profile and the homepage. Then, content that attracts people with a specific problem.
From 6 clicks a month to more than 150
The website went from 6 clicks in July 2025 to 166 in August 2026, its best month.
Growth continued through 2026: the content published up to January kept gaining positions in the following months.
Source: Google Search Console. June 2025 data starts on the 3rd.
Between July and September 2026 the website got 444 clicks from Google, compared with 49 in the same months of 2025.
Impressions went from about 3,660 to about 23,700 and the average position improved from 17.8 to 8.9.
The content that attracted the most people
Between October 2025 and September 2026, the pages with the most clicks were blog posts:
- 01My partner puts me down in front of people211 clicks · average position 5.9
- 02Gestalt therapy: pros and cons160 clicks · average position 6.7
- 03I feel lonely but I don't want to be with anyone151 clicks · average position 7.0
- 04Role play in Gestalt therapy134 clicks · average position 5.0
- 05Gestalt therapy for self-esteem71 clicks · average position 5.9
The post with the most clicks addresses a specific relationship situation, not a general search about therapy.

For a neighbourhood business, many calls also come from the Google Business Profile and Maps, which do not appear in this website data.
In such a personal service, SEO starts with understanding the person
Shortly after we worked on the Business Profile and the homepage, in September 2025, the therapist told us a new client had called her. From then on, the work focused on reaching more people like her.
For local businesses, the Business Profile and the homepage come first
For a neighbourhood practice, the Google Business Profile and a well-built homepage are what make the earliest difference in calls.
Ranking is not the same as attracting clients
Articles about Gestalt therapy brought visits, but from people who were just reading up. The ones about specific problems attract people who really need help.
Check that contact works
A form that does not deliver messages cancels out everything else. Checking it is as important as getting visits.
Think mobile
74% of clicks from Google came from mobile devices. That is why the WhatsApp button and a fast website carry so much weight.
Trust helps you rank too
Showing who the therapist is, her training and her face on video helps Google and, above all, the person who is hesitating about getting in touch.
